Do you recognize yourself in one or many of these situations?
To truly enjoy your life you know you should make some changes to improve your health and well-being. The problem is that when you think of making them, you feel overwhelmed, lost and/or discouraged.
You haven’t been as committed to a healthy lifestyle as you’d like to say (and I understand you—I didn’t either until my forties. As a coach, my job is to understand your challenges, not judge you. I’m on your side!).
When you think of your retirement, you dream of being physically and mentally healthy, able to travel, play with your grandchildren, enjoy the hobbies you love and be as active as you’ll like to be.
You‘re fed up of worrying about possible or worsening health issues or your poor heredity. You want to avoid having to manage the same illnesses and conditions your parents did/do.
Tired of fad diets, the latest protein shake, miracle sleeping pills, or another unused gym membership, you now want to achieve sustainable changes that you will achieve at your own realistic pace.
You feel ready for a professional partner to help you define and implement your personal wellness plan towards your definition of a healthy lifestyle.
- You finally want to prioritize yourself! You want to reach your best health and well-being and be able to look to the future with joy and positive anticipation of what you’ll be able to do.

First, I want you to know that I’ve been in your shoes. I used to think about making lifestyle changes but didn’t know how to make it happen or keep them going. That’s why I kept on smoking a pack of cigarettes a day for 15 years and not exercising at all for 20 years.
Then my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease a few years into her retirement. She wasn’t able to enjoy the trips she had planned and a few years later couldn’t even live on her own.
That was the wake-up call I needed. Witnessing what this disease did to her made me want to find out what, if anything, I could do to reduce this inherited risk.
I discovered that regular physical exercise, a healthy diet, good sleep, stress management, social connections and intellectual activity could greatly diminish my risk for Alzheimer’s Disease and many other illnesses and conditions.
In fact, I learned that certain lifestyles could not only help prevent chronic disease, they could also treat it and often reverse it. I was thrilled!
This discovery truly changed my life. After I quit smoking, I pushed myself to start walking regularly and later changed my diet to a whole food plant-based one. For years, my energy had been so low I had to nap every day after work. After those changes, my energy increased so much that I completed several half-marathons!
I wish everybody could experience such improvements in their quality of life and the peace of mind that comes from knowing that their hereditary risks have shrunk. That’s why I became a certified Health & Wellness Coach after working as a Social Worker for over 20 years. I also acquired these lifestyle medicine credentials:
- Certified Health and Wellness Coach, Wellcoaches School of Coaching
- Forks Over Knives Plant-Based Certification, Rouxbe Cooking School
- Mindful Eating, Applied Mindfulness Institute
- Certified Health Coach, American Council on Exercise
- Certified Food For Life Instructor, Physicians Committee
- Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate, T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies
- Mindful Stress Management, Applied Mindfulness Institute
I know how difficult and discouraging it can be to try to change lifestyle habits by yourself. I also know how frustrating it can be to realize you’ve lost sight of them once you have changed them. You don’t have to do this alone!
If you want to start making changes to significantly improve your health and quality of life now and for your retirement years, I’m here for you. I coach by phone and Skype/What’s App/etc. (audio only) so we can talk wherever you are.
What is Health & Wellness Coaching?
It’s a discipline that combines Coaching Psychology, Behaviour Change and Positive Psychology. It can help you get the healthier, more fulfilling life you crave by enabling you to make the lifestyle changes you want to make. A coach doesn’t tell you what to do. I’ll help you discover what works for you.
Who can benefit from Health & Wellness Coaching?
- You want to get healthier and feel better but don’t know how to get yourself to get started and/or make these changes sustainable.
- Health professionals have told you what you need to do to better your health (lose weight, eat less fat, sugar or salt, exercise, sleep more, stress less, etc.) but you don’t know where to start or how to make these changes sustainable.
- You want to be in the driver’s seat: choose your priorities, at your pace, by setting goals that are important to you instead of being told what to do by someone who doesn’t know anything about you and your reality.
